Spectrum Concert

Chamber Music | MY MUSIC BLOG

Do you know about the Spectrum? Don’t feel bad if you don’t. I didn’t either until I learned about this fine group. Anyway, the Spectrum is Forth Worth’s oldest professional chamber music group. A great trivia question, isn’t it?

Six members of the Forth Worth Symphony Orchestra (FWSO) founded the Spectrum Chamber Music Ensemble in 1986, and the group is still going strong. It now includes other FWSO performers, faculty members from nearby schools, and local professional musicians.

Spectrum will provide a free performance venue for you Monday evening, November 9, at 7:00 PM. The group will give you some light entertainment and maybe even some folk songs. It will be a musical experience you won’t want to miss.

Travel to First United Methodist Church’s Leonard Memorial Chapel, in downtown Fort Worth You can park in the church’s east parking lot right off 4th. Street and enter the chapel through the 4th. Street door. The concert won’t be fancy enough that it requires you to dress up.

Just remember that the concert is in the chapel, not the main sanctuary.

    • You’re right! The only negative about living downtown is the lack of a real grocery store. Sure, we have convenience stores, but nothing within walking distance. It’s a treat to go to Central Market, Kroger’s, Tom Thumb, and even Walmart and Target.
