It’s going to be another memorable event as the 2015 XTO Energy Parade of Lights celebrates 33 years of illumination and beauty in Fort Worth. The new date may take you a little by surprise, so here is an advance notice. Circle Sunday, November 22, on your calendar for the parade that begins at 6:00 PM at Belknap and Throckmorton.
This year’s parade theme is “Let the Season Begin.” You’ll see over 1 million lights on 100 entries. I wonder who counted them. It is the official arrival of that much loved couple Santa and Mrs. Claus. Bring your children and grandchildren to make lasting memories and see the Christmas tree light up in Sundance Square.
If you want to reserve a seat, you need to do it as soon as possible. You’ll want to order early to guarantee your spot as all seats have sold out in past years. Although the parade is free, if you reserve a seat, there is a charge.
Volunteers are need. If you want to be one of the over 400 “elves” who put a dazzle in one of Texas’ top holiday light parades, go online to <www.FortWorthParadeofLights.org>.
This website will also give you information about downtown street closures, transportation, parking, and other important matters associated with the parade.
Annie is not a cheap date, but she does want the freedom to be up and moving around at times during the parade. She has an IKEA folding chair, light and totally portable, that she uses to watch the free parade. Anticipation!
