Pot Luck Luncheon

Pot Luck Lunch | The Ethical Chef

The Downtown YMCA is having another pot luck luncheon for its active senior adults. The first Friday of every month, the Y sponsors a luncheon followed by some bingo playing with prizes. This month the theme is “Italian.” Every one is bringing a dish to share that will feed at least six adults. I’m taking a pie. Not too Italian, is it, but it is a request, so I’ll honor it.

Of course, you have to be a Y member to participate, but that’s not a problem. You can easily join. Just go by the  Members Services Desk, complete an application, and make payment arrangements. My fee is automatically deducted from my checking account. No fuss; no hassle. Some health care plans will even pay your monthly membership charge. Mine doesn’t, but maybe yours does. Ask if your plan has a Silver Sneakers clause; if it does, you may be able to get a free membership.

Go by the Amon G. Carter, Jr., Downtown YMCA, Member Services Desk to let them know you are coming and what dish you are bringing to this free to members December 4 luncheon. It starts in the SOS Conference Room at 11:45 AM and usually concludes about 1:00 PM. Dress is casual. In fact, some of us come directly from our exercise classes. See you there!
