Ah, the tango–what a sensuous, romantic dance. If you are a devotee of this stirring dance and its music you’ll want to be at the Modern Museum of Art tonight to hear tango music as performed Glovertango Duo .
Annie saw tango dancers in the streets of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Such grace, and, frankly, very sexy. Dancers Nasrin Barmaki and Hassan Parsa, from TangoAmor
will be your guides as they showcase this expressive dance form. Wonder if they’re from Argentina.
After this First Friday musical experience, you may want to go into the auditorium at 8:00 PM to listen to music by the Austin Piazzolla Quintet.
There is limited seating, and this performance requires an admission ticket: $15, $10 for students and Modern members. If you want, you may order tickets online
, by calling 817.738.9215, or buy them at the Modern’s admission desk.
“The first Friday of each month, the Star-Telegram, the Modern, and Café Modern team up to bring you live music and cocktails in the museum’s Grand Lobby from 5:00 PM to 8:oo PM. Bring your friends and enjoy diverse live performances, unique cocktail selections, and the opportunity to dine in Café Modern by night. A docent-led, 20-minute tour of the galleries is available at 6:30 pm (regular gallery admission applies).
