You can find billions of dollars at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, 9000 Blue Mound Road in Fort Worth, Texas 76131. You’ll learn about the production and history of United States paper currency.
Visit the Tour and Visitor Center that includes two floors of exhibits and displays. You can take a self-guided tour on an elevated walkway, then later watch a high-definition movie before visiting the Moneyfactory Gift Shop. Look for the shreded money and uncut bills.
Admission is free any time Tuesday through Friday, 8:30 AM until 5:30 PM. The facility is closed on Federal holidays and the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day. Otherwise, go on out and enjoy watching money being printed. For tour information, call 817-231-4000 or toll-free 866-865-1194 and press 2. The Bureau’s web site is <www.bep.gov>.
