Aw, come on. Get out of the house and go out. Live a little and enjoy some live music Friday, April 22, when Latin Express plays for your listening pleasure at Central Market, 4651 West Freeway (I-30 and Hulen) for three whole hours 6-9 PM. The group plays Tejano, Salsa, and Funk. Should be fun, and it’s free. Bring a lawn chair, if you like, and enjoy the fun on the patio in front of the store. There’s plenty of parking in the store’s lot.
If you can’t make it for the Friday music, you’ll be able to hear Spanish Fly play Tejano and more music Saturday, April 23, 5:30-9 PM. The good people at Central Market are giving us free musical treats for our ears as well as providing fine groceries for our tummies. Please thank the staff for making all this possible.
Annie is not pushing Central Market, but does want to let you know that the Fort Worth Cooking School is offering a “Seafood from South of the Border” class on Tuesday, April 26, 6:30-9:00 PM. It’s a hands-on class where you can spend a few hours learning to make some quick and easy dishes. Like what you ask? Well, like Camarones al Guajillo con Nopales (shrimp with quick-fried cactus paddles), Filetes de Pescado a la Campechana (fish fillets with tomato, habanero and corn); Red Snapper, Vera Cruz style, and Mejillones con Cilantro (mussels with cilantro). These are mouth-watering dishes that you can learn to make at home. Sorry, but there is a charge for the class. Call 817.989.4700 to make inquiries.
